Pilates is for individuals of all fitness levels. It is a machine-based body conditioning routine that puts emphasis on breath, alignment, and form. It has many possible benefits including increased flexibility and core strength, posture correction, muscle toning without creating “bulky” muscles, injury recovery, and improved coordination and balance.

Pilates Classes

At The Sanctuary, we offer Pilates classes in a private, semi-private and group setting. Join us for a class today and start your transformation towards a stronger body. New to Pilates? Try our Intro to Pilates private package.

Group Reformer

A Classic group Reformer class designed to offer a challenging and fun workout for clients in a small group setting. These classes are designed to build lean, flexible muscles as well as increase coordination, improve posture, and relieve stress. This class requires concentration, breath work, and precise movements. Classes will have no more than 4 clients and are accompanied with energizing music to keep you inspired and motivated.

Semi Private

Small Group Reformer class – Our team of certified Pilates Instructors work to create customized Pilates workouts for you that will help you achieve your personal goals. 2 clients maximum.

Group Tower

Incorporating the use of the Tower, this is a full body workout that increases flexibility and mind/body awareness. Build lean, flexible muscles as well as increase coordination, improve posture, and relieves stress. This class requires concentration and precise movements as well as the use of balls and props to maximize core strength development. The instructor will also do some assisted stretching. This is an advanced class. Classes will have no more than 4 clients.

Private

Our team of certified Pilates Instructors work to create customized Pilates workouts for you that will help you achieve your personal goals. One on one sessions benefit everyone, including athletes, people in physical rehabilitation, mothers-to-be, as well as those seeking complementary athletic strength training and injury prevention.

Guidelines & Etiquette

REGULARITY OF PRACTICE

To experience the optimal benefits Pilates, it’s important to practice regularly. We recommend a minimum of 3 times per week. Whether in class or at home, practicing Pilates on a consistent basis will accelerate your learning and greatly enhance your overall health.

Attire

Wear athletic clothing that you can move in that is flexible, non-binding, and breathable such as shorts, T-shirts, yoga wear, tights and leotards. We practice in bare feet.

ARRIVAL & REGISTRATION

Please arrive to the studio 10-15 minutes early to register, pay and get ready for class. Your practice begins when you arrive at the studio, so please remove your shoes & turn off your cell phone.

PAYMENT

Payment is due on the same day of a session or class. We accept credit, cash and checks. You may also pre-pay for classes by signing up online.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Please understand that for all scheduled appointments, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or there will be a full service charge.

HEALTH CONDITIONS

Please consult your physician before starting any new exercise regime, especially if you have health issues. Inform the instructor of any serious health conditions such as neck, back or joint injuries, glaucoma, heart disease, high blood pressure, recent  surgery, or pregnancy.

MEDICATIONS

Do not practice Pilates while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (including prescribed drugs) which may alter your ability to judge your physical capabilities.
